Well it is not quite easy but anyone can do it. I started off with a Hosting company Hostready registered the domains from Valuegurus I got the domains for under $7. Then purchased some good reseller space with a reputed web hosting company which cost about $25. I then got purchased 3 Directory script costing me another $48. I had the web sites made from scratch from free templates.
Then I made some research for some good famous expired domains with traffic and bought 3 more domains for around $75. I completed the directories and allocated some budget for promotion say another $25. In all I spent about $180.
Thats how I started pizzadelightoakville food and recipes directory and Severnscopy Medical Directory. I started to get the links and started selling in packs of $5 per link so I get about 15 to 25 links for each site daily. That makes 45X5 = $225/perday.
This is not exaggerated but easily can be attained for a lay web user with fair knowledge in posting in popular forums and also in basic designing stuff. If you have some good SEO knowledge that is added advantage.
